Privacy Notice

NewYorkez LLC is the data controller for personal data processed through smartmathboard.com, including IvySAT Math Prep. This means we decide why and how your personal data is used. You can contact us at contact@smartmathboard.com.

Personal data we collect and why

• Account identity (name, email address, and the identifier supplied by Google or Apple when you sign in) — to create and secure your account and to give you access to paid features. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Subscription status (whether your subscription is active, its start and renewal dates, and the reference supplied by Stripe) — to grant or withdraw access. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
• Lesson requests (the date, time, and email you submit when using ASK Instructor) — to schedule and confirm your session. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
• Support messages you send us — to answer your question. Legal basis: performance of our contract and our legitimate interest in supporting users.
• Usage and technical data (IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, error logs) — to keep the Service secure, diagnose faults, and improve it. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in security and product improvement.

We do not collect or store your card details. Payment data is collected directly by Stripe, our payment processor.

Who we share data with

• Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database and authentication providers, and error-monitoring tools that run the Service on our behalf.
• Stripe, our payment processor, for the sale of our products, subscription management, payments, tax calculation, and invoicing.
• Google and Apple, where you choose to sign in with those services, and Google Calendar / Google Meet where you schedule an instructor session.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where required by law.

We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

Retention

We keep account and subscription data for as long as your account is active and for up to seven years afterwards where needed for tax and accounting records. Support messages and lesson requests are kept for up to two years. Technical logs are kept for up to twelve months. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the UK and EEA may also lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. To exercise any right, email contact@smartmathboard.com; we respond within one month.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level database security, to protect your data.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in and to run the checkout. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though sign-in and checkout will not work without the essential ones.

Children

The Service is intended for teachers and students. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, please use the Service only with a parent, guardian, or teacher.
